Hellmann gives Claas more space

Claas, a major manufacturer of agricultural machinery, Germany has contracted Hellmann for further services. The shipper, headquartered in Harsewinkel, Westphalia, Germany, delivers combine harvesters and other machinery throughout Europe.

Hellmann is now opening a new dedicated 18,000 sqm warehouse in Westphalia, to ensure the delivery of production supplies to the largest Claas plant. First, the logistics company will put 9,000 sqm of storage space into operation, and another 9,000 sqm will be occupied later this year after the completion of the second construction phase. Hellmann is renting the newly built procurement warehouse for components from India, Turkey, and China.

“Hellmann has been an important and strategic partner for our European land transport and our worldwide air and sea freight for years," said Bastian Linnenbrink, head of supply chain management for Claas self-propelled harvesting machines. (sh)
