Heavy packages safely delivered over African land
Bolloré has transported six electrical transformers weighing a total of 464 to equip numerous thermal power stations in Benin. This operation was carried out on behalf of GE/Grid Solution, a local subsidiary of General Electric.
Shipped by container from Turkey, the equipment was received at the African Port of Cotonou in Benin before being transported further by road over a cumulative distance of 887 km.
This exceptional project was carried out with the Bolloré’s Benin teams who specialise in the transport of heavy packages. The transport company was selected following a tender call as part of the compact II programme which was funded to accelerate Benin's growth in order to reduce poverty. (ben)
