The Italian forwarder Savino Del Bene is expanding in Germany with the acquisition of Seabridge Transport, giving it access to Hamburg’s logistics infrastructure. The company will continue to base its German operations in the port city and leverage the location to increase sea freight volume.
Savino Del Bene can combine Seabridge’s strong import portfolio with its own export expertise. The companies can thus collaborate on container shipping in the region and complement each other’s regional and international networks.
In 2023, Savino Del Bene shipped 735,000 teu by sea and 87,000 t by air, ending the year with a revenue of EUR 2.7 billion. This year, the year of its 125th anniversary, it can work to grow further in the German market. (mk)
