Chinese Sinotrans and the logistics arm of China Merchants Group (CMG) have introduced their first own rail link between Shenzhen in China and Duisburg in Germany. The train passes through traditional route points along the New Silk Road, including Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland.
For the German gateway duisport the new rail connection is a further building block in the port's future growth. The Shenzhen destination enhances services to the Perl River Delta, Duisport says.
For Sinotrans the new link ensures continuous supply changes between China and Europe and further improves and expands business contacts. (ben)
