Growing with additional services
RZD Logistics (RZDL) is expanding its services from the stations of the East Siberian Railway. As a first step, the logistics arm of the Russian railway company has opened a 3,500 sqm goods warehouse at the Kirenga terminal. In addition to an unloading area for 95 wagons, the hub also has special areas for unloading and loading dangerous and oversized consignments, heavy loads and bulk cargo. Similar infrastructures are now being built at other East Siberian stations.
With the expansion, RZDL is increasingly focusing not only on organising railfreight transport but also on the delivery of goods over the first and last mile by truck as well as on the transhipment, receiving and storage of freight. (ben)
