Grendi expanding workforce and reach
The Italian Grendi Group is following up on its EUR 36 million investment plan for 2024-2026, as the company declared in the presentation of its 2024 results.
In the previous year it allocated EUR 14 million to modernise maritime transport and port terminals, focusing on routes to Tunisia and Algeria. The company also strengthened its shipping division by acquiring the vessel ‘Grendi Futura’.
Compared to 2023 its workforce grew by 40% to 236 employees, with a 40% increase in women in leadership positions. Revenues rose by 20%, driven by diversification and international expansion, according to the company. In 2024, Grendi obtained Ecovadis certification for its sustainability performance.
Plans for 2025 include expanding national transport capacity, improving operational efficiency and preparing for the company’s 200-year anniversary. (js)
