‘Greener’ deliveries by Ikea
Ever more of the Swedish retailer’s furniture is set to be delivered to customers in Hungary by electric vehicles, and in Austria by hydrogen-powered vehicles. Ten e-transporters will be in action in Budapest, where Gebrüder Weiss will handle furniture transports for Ikea in future. Ten more are used for deliveries in other cities.
In Austria, Quantron is delivering five more QLI BEV H2 trucks to Ikea’s Vienna centre. The vehicles are fuelled with green hydrogen. One tank is sufficient to travel 400 km. Ikea Austria already has 45 QLI BEV trucks in operation in the greater Vienna area and another eleven in other Austrian cities. (ben)
