Good news from Miami overshadowed by violence
During the Tiaca Media Day, director general Glyn Hughes and chairman Stephen Polmans informed online how the Miami-based association, analogous to the air cargo industry in general, benefited financially and operationally during the Covid crisis.
As a member-driven association, Tiaca is looking to increase its involvement in growth regions outside North America and Europe, notably by establishing regional representation in China, Africa and Latin America.
Meanwhile, developments in Ukraine, which are severely affecting international air traffic, are a cause for concern. Another issue is cybercrime, which has already hit Ukraine particularly hard in recent months. In contrast to traditional extortion, this mostly involves the pure destruction of data and information.
