Fuel-cell trucks ready for customers
From mid-2024, Amazon, Air Products, Ineos, Holcim and Wiedmann & Winz plan to begin the first customer trials with fuel-cell trucks made by Daimler Truck. The five semi-trailer tractors will be deployed in a number of long-haul operations - transporting building materials, sea containers or cylinder gases, etc. - on specific routes in Germany.
In these tests, the GenH2 Trucks will operate under the direct supervision of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The vehicles will be refuelled at designated public liquid hydrogen filling stations in Wörth am Rhein and in the Duisburg area. The fuel-cell system of the GenH2 Truck delivers 300 kilowatts (2 x 150 kW), and the battery provides an additional 400 kW temporarily if required. (ben)
