From the North Sea to the Mediterranean

49% of Boxx Intermodal Logistics‘ shares will go to the Thielemann Group. The former is a subsidiary of the Haus Cramer Group and specialises in beverages logistics.

Boxx, headquartered in Warstein, was founded in 2021 to provide door-to-door deliveries using sustainable rail transport. The intermodal hub at Warstein will complete Thielemann’s end-to-end supply chain and connect it from the North Sea to the Mediterranean.

Another focus will be e-commerce, with multimodal hubs and rail networks allowing for sustainable long-haul transport. Currently, Boxx fills around three to five full train loads at Warstein per week. With the new collaboration, it aims to increase the capacity and number of destinations.

Boxx relies heavily on the export of goods while Thielemann is focused on imports, warehousing, and distribution. The companies can thus complement each other's capacities. (mk)
