From Siberia to China in 35 days

The Austrian Rail Cargo Group in Russia and the Russian transport firm Fesco plan to set up stable and reliable multimodal transport services between Siberia and China. The two companies jointly organised the first container transport, loaded with 216 t of rapeseed oil, from Krasnoyarsk, the third largest city in Siberia, to the Chinese port of Nantong.

The ten containers and the rapeseed oil loaded in flexi-tanks were first transported by rail from the terminal in Krasnoyarsk to the Port of Vladivostok on Russia's Pacific coast.

Then Fesco’s regular sea line took the containers to the Port of Shanghai, where they were shipped further by barge on the river to the Port of Nantong. The rapeseed oil reached its destination after 35 days in transit. (ben)
