On 3 June 2021, two months after the implementation of the new seasonal flight schedule this week-end, Eastern Airlines will continue its Latin American expansion, when it begins twice-weekly Montevideo - Miami service, adding direct service from MIA to Uruguay’s capital of more than 1.3 million people. All flights will utilise Boeing B767-300 aircraft with 30 cbm of belly cargo space.

The Montevideo service announcement follows Eastern’s launch of weekly Asuncion-Miami service at the beginning of the year. Eastern also currently operates twice-weekly service to Guayaquil, Ecuador and weekly service to Managua, Nicaragua.

Lester Sola, MIA director and CEO: "We look forward to welcoming their fourth Miami route, and wish them continued success in their development of Latin American air service." (ah)
