Friedrich Merz leaves Stadler's board of directors

Friedrich Merz has decided not to stand for re-election as member of the board of directors of Stadler Rail at the company’s next annual general meeting on 30 April 2020. He said he wished to fully focus on his political mandates. Merz was elected to Stadler’s board of directors in 2006.

“We thank Merz for his many years of service in Stadler’s board of directors. His political and economic experience was a great asset for us. We wish him every success for his future political career,” said Peter Spuhler, president of the board of directors.

The members of Stadler’s board of directors are: Hans-Peter Schwald, Kurt Rüegg, Fred Kindle, Christoph Franz, Wojciech Kostrzewa and Barbara Egger-Jenzer. At the AGM on 30 April 2020 the former federal councillor Doris Leuthard will stand for election to the board of directors. (mw)
