Fresh technology in Ostend
TGW is building a fulfilment centre for Up Fresh in the port city of Ostend by November 2023. The shipper is a Belgian food wholesaler and supplies more than 2,700 points of sale with meat, cheese, salads as well as convenience products.
The heart of the system is a shuttle warehouse with three aisles that covers a temperature range 2° - 4° Celsius. It serves both to store goods and buffer empty or order containers.
Customers can order seven days a week: Those who order by 18.00 h will receive the selected fresh assortment reliably delivered the very next day. (sh)
