French rail motorway operator introduces truck app
VIIA, the operator of the rail motorways of French SNCF group, has launched VIIA DRIVE, a new app for truck drivers. During the start-up phase, the app will only be available in Le Boulou before being opened to the other terminals.
Available in ten languages, the application will help to reduce a driver’s waiting time at the railway terminal by pre-registering. VIIA DRIVE also informs the drivers in real time about the status of their reservation and the availability of their semi-trailer.
When entering a drop of or pick up code, the user will generate a QR code allowing him to enter the terminal faster, to locate and pick up his trailer more easily. A geo-tracking tool and an activity record will also be available. (ben)
