Fourth destination in Southern Germany

European Gateway Services (EGS), a transport product of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam, is opening a new connection between Rotterdam and Regensburg in Bavaria, thus adding a fourth destination after Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart (Kornwestheim) to its network in Southern Germany.

After a successful trial, the first trains will run between Rotterdam and Regensburg from the end of March. The link will serve all deep sea terminals on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam and provide onward connections to Antwerp. It will begin with two trains a week in both directions, bringing the total number of weekly rail departures between Rotterdam and Southern Germany to 22. (ben)
