Florence-based forwarder grows footprint in Turkey

The Italian freight forwarder Savino Del Bene, established in Florence in 1899, has taken over Transocean Shipping Int'l Transport & Foreign Trade, which was founded in 2002. With 60 professionals in Istanbul, Izmir and Mersin, the Turkish company focuses on ocean export services.

With this step, Savino Del Bene consolidates its position in the Turkish market, where it has been operating since 1999 with own offices located at the same sites and strengthens its operations in the Mediterranean. For the time being, the two entities will continue to operate independently but they will maximise every opportunity to create synergies.

Nunzio Perna (far left), Middle East & Africa regional director: "The acquisition confirms our commitment to long-term investments with the goal of generating new synergies, business opportunities and employment." (ah)
