Five new LNG dual-fuel ships to join PIL fleet

Pacific International Lines (PIL) has ordered five new 13,000 teu container vessels equipped with LNG dual-fuel engines, as part of its fleet renewal strategy.

The neo-panamax vessels, designed for efficiency, safety, and sustainability, will be built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard and are expected to be delivered from late 2026.

The vessels will feature advanced technology, including AI and IoT for automated tasks and comply with the latest International Maritime Organisation’s environmental standards. This order supports PIL's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. (pb)
