First unitised direct train connects Coevorden and Nässjo

Samskip has launched a new five times weekly rail connection between Coevorden in the north of the Netherlands and Nässjö, Sweden, in its second significant enhancement of its Swedish services in September 2019.

The new link is Samskip’s first direct Sweden-Netherlands rail service, and the first direct unitised railfreight link between the Netherlands and Nässjo altogether, according to the operator. Coevorden strengthens multimodal options by creating a new entry point into the pan-European Samskip network.

Samskip controls the full scope of rail transport between the Netherlands and Sweden together with Hector Rail, Skane Rail and Euroterminal Coevorden. Earlier this month, Samskip started a new rail link between Duisburg, Germany and Falköping, Sweden. (ben)
