First modernised loco to be ready in 2023
CZ Loko has won the tender for a complete modernisation of all 14 Class 742 locomotives in the fleet of Czech Railways (CD).
The contract is worth more than CZK 684 million (EUR 28 million) and was signed by representatives of both companies. The national carrier will receive the first vehicle by the end of February 2023 and the last by the end of 2024.
CZ Loko uses the trade name Effi Shunter 1000M for the project to upgrade Class 742 locomotives to the 742.71X Class, as it makes new, first-class locomotives out of former four-axle CKD diesel locomotives that date back to the years 1977 - 1986. (ben)
