First Europe - China TIR transport takes 12 days
The first successful TIR transport from Europe to China came to a successful conclusion on 26 February, after a 7,400 km journey from Germany to Khorgos, a major Chinese overland Belt and Road port.
The TIR truck, carrying 12 t of automobile lubricant, set out from Germany, then travelled through Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan to China in just 12 days without disruption or customs issues.
This TIR journey, undertaken in challenging winter conditions, followed on from last year’s first TIR transport from China to Europe (Khorgos – Poland, 7,000 km in 13 days), jointly conducted by the IRU and the logistics companies, Ceva and Alblas. (ben)
