First Covid-19 vaccine shipment at Cairo airport
Egyptian cargo services provider CACC Cargolinx has handled the first Covid-19 vaccine shipment to arrive at Cairo airport (CAI) onboard Emirates Skycargo’s aircraft on 10 December 2020.
In order to safeguard the integrity of such sensitive a product, the team of the first Iata CEIV Pharma certified African cargo terminal (2017) was prepared to receive the vaccine shipment prior to flight arrival.
The shipment was immediately loaded onto the company's ten cool dollies on the tarmac to ensure a seamless cool chain until its direct delivery to the consignee.
At CAI, the Pharma.Aero member features 9,000 sqm fully temperature-controlled terminals covering both import and export. Both terminals - including inspection areas - are thermally mapped and equipped with temperature loggers. (ah)
