First autonomous electric pod system in service
Swedish freight technology specialist Einride and GE Appliances (GEA) are working together to implement electric and autonomous transport at scale. It will be the first time an autonomous and electric truck will be operating on American soil, the companies said.
The partnership will represent Einride’s first installation with its renowned Pods in the USA. At launch, Einride will install electric transportation solutions at three of GEA’s locations in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. As a result of this partnership, GEA is expected to save 970 t of CO2 emissions within the first year. (ben)
