Finnlines with a good year in its back

The Finnlines Group has reported its results for 2021. Revenues went up by 20% compared to 2020, totalling EUR 579.9 (484) million in the reporting period. Shipping and sea transport services contributed the lion’s share, amounting to EUR 555.3 (461.8) million.

Port operations revenues rose slightly, to EUR 47 (42.8) million. Cargo volumes were higher than in 2020, but aren’t yet back to the level of 2019. Ebitda came up to EUR 160.3 (140.8) million, an increase of 14%. The result for the reporting period was EUR 74.7 (69.7) million.

Emanuele Grimaldi, president and CEO, pointed out that Finnlines will continue its EUR 0.5 billion green investment programme to reduce its greenhouse-gas emissions in its fleet according to and beyond targets set by the IMO and the EU. In this context, the construction of three hybrid ro-ro vessels and two eco-efficient ro-pax vessels is going according to plan. (sh)
