Financial expert joins KBRV

Having worked in the cabinet of former deputy prime minister Vincent Van Quickenborne, then the outgoing deputy prime minister Paul Van Tigchelt and as a tax consultant in the private sector, Loïc Van Staey is joining the Royal Belgian Shipowners' Association (KBRV) as an adviser in taxation, finances and safety.

Loïc Van Staey will bring his knowledge of ship financing and energy taxation, especially in green financing, to the team to help the Belgian shipping industry face the challenges ahead, especially in view of the new European Commission’s clean industrial deal and the IMO's 2023 revised GHG strategy. Shipping is not a new industry to him as his experience in the ministerial cabinets included the North Sea. (cj)
