Fiege to deploy its first e-trucks

Fiege is planning to put the first four leased battery-powered vehicles into operation for its healthcare and fast-moving consumer goods segments at four of its locations in Germany. The vehicles will help the forwarder move one crucial step closer to its declared goal of climate neutrality.

Fiege will be using the electric trucks for its regional FTL- and LTL-transports. A fifth unit is expected to join the fleet soon. Three of the four tractor-trailers were manufactured by the Swedish truck maker Volvo, with the fourth truck being supplied by Designwerk Technologies, also building on Volvo technology.

Thanks to batteries with a net capacity of 450 kilowatt hours, the vehicles have a reach of up to 300 km. (ben)
