Fiata names world’s best youngsters
The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (Fiata), based in Geneva, and the TT Club, an international freight transport insurer based in the UK, have selected the regional winners of this year’s Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award (YIFFY).
– The European winner is Glauc Fornes Gil (Feteia / Spain), with a dissertation on ‘More than just a freight broker’.
– In Africa and the Middle East Justin John Goedhart (SAAFF / South Africa) came top with a dissertation on ‘Agents of sustainable development’.
– For the Americas it is Georgina Alejandra Perez (CIFFA / Canada), with a dissertation about ‘Delivering essential tools to the western and eastern Canadian Arctic’.
– For the Asia-Pacific region Muhammad Wasif Wiqar (PIFFA / Pakistan) won, with a dissertation on a ‘Million-dollar shipment’.
“We’re pleased to have received exceptional work from many young professionals for this year’s award, despite the challenges we continue to face due to the outbreak of Covid-19,” said FIATA President Basil Pietersen. (cd)
