Fercam – clean and quiet over the Brenner
Clean, smart logistics is one of Fercam's strategic goals for 2019. The South Tyrolean service provider is gradually replacing its diesel HGVs with 460 hp LNG powered vehicles in order to offer more eco-friendly transport services.
The company’s vehicle fleet is now being augmented by twelve, LNG powered Iveco Stralis units that will be primarily used for shuttle services between Verona (Italy) and Munich (Germany), via the Brenner corridor.
The initial investment in a LNG fuelled vehicle is more than 20% higher than in a standard 40 t euro 6 diesel-powered truck. On the plus side, LNG trucks emit 60% less NOx and 99% less particulate matter. (ben)
