Fedex fuels new cargo area at Bahrain airport
Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) and Fedex Express have signed a letter of intent concerning warehouse space at Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) new cargo area on the northern runway.
The expansion of BIA’s cargo facilities is in line with the objectives of Bahrain's higher coordinating committee to further develop the country's logistics field. BAC is currently negotiating with two other companies wishing to operate warehouses there.
In November 2018, BAC signed an agreement with the French engineering firm Egis for the design and supervision of the new 25,000 sqm zone, which encompasses warehouses, aircraft parking, and associated infrastructure aimed at handling air cargo traffic and e-commerce. It is also equipped with the latest technologies, making it an attractive location for investment in the Middle East. (ah)
