FedEx: a boost for business in South China

FedEx Express is increasing its activity in China by signing an MOU with the Guangdong Airport Authority as it begins construction on a South China Operations Centre.

The MOU focuses on operational efficiency and investments. Both companies will specifically promote FedEx’s developments at the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, hoping to support the city’s growth in the air cargo sector. Additionally, the groundbreaking ceremony for FedEx’s South China Operations Centre was held. The hub is scheduled to open in 2027. With an area of 41,000 sqm, it will upgrade FedEx’s Guangzhou Gateway.

FedEx Express is focusing on the region due to its importance as an air cargo hub and growing foreign trade developments. In recent years, the company has launched cargo flights between Guangzhou and Vietnam and introduced AI-powered sorting robots in its South China distribution hub. (mk)
