Fair play in cross-border road haulage
The Swiss government wants to ensure fair competition between companies in cross-border road haulage and strengthen cooperation with EU states. To this end, the Swiss federal council has submitted the relevant amendments to the law to consultation for three months.
Companies that use delivery vans with a total weight of more than 3.5 t for cross-border commercial goods transport will now have to obtain a licence.
The Swiss authorities are also planning measures to improve the control of letterbox companies and provide administrative assistance for investigations into compliance with working conditions. (ben)
