Facelift for Estonian locomotive fleet

The Czech manufacturer CZ Loko and the Estonian national carrier Operail (formerly EVR Cargo) have inked an agreement for upgrading four more C30 locomotives to class C30-M. The contract will increase the number of upgraded locomotives of that class from three to seven.

The first C30 locomotive was upgraded to a C30-M last year and, after a demanding trial operation, it received all approvals necessary for regular operations.

The C30-M is designed for heavy shunting and train haulage services on lines and sidings with a 1,520mm gauge. (ben)
