FAA fines Asia Pacific Airlines


The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes five civil penalties totalling USD 2.9 million against Asia Pacific Airlines, an B757F operator based in Guam:

- USD 2.5 million for allegedly using unqualified pilots on 163 flights;

- USD 250,000 for allegedly operating 121 flights without authority from an individual who was authorised to exercise operational control of those flights;

- USD 150,000 for allegedly conducting 30 flights that did not comply with conditions and limitations when certain equipment was out of service;

- USD 64,000 for allegedly failing to document engine monitoring and continually assess engine reliability for B757 used in Etops, and for failing to perform the required removal of an engine that exceeded allowable temperatures on a 21 July 2022 flight;

- and USD 8,000 for alleged violations of safety risk management regulations. (ah)
