Expeditors appoints CEO
Expeditors International has announced that CEO Jeffrey S. Musser will retire on 31 March.
The board has elected Daniel R. Wall, currently the president of its global geographies, as his successor. Wall, who’ll take office on 1 April, is also joining the board of directors.
Musser, who joined the company at 16, has been with Expeditors for 42 years and has served as CEO since 2014. Under his leadership revenues grew from USD 6.1 to 10.6 billion, whilst the workforce expanded from 14,000 to over 18,000.
Wall has also worked for Expeditors for 38 years in a range of leadership roles (most recently overseeing global operations), and is thus prepared to lead the next phase. Board chair Bob Carlile praised his industry expertise and leadership, which will ensure continuity in the company’s strategy and culture. (ah)
