Expansion in South-Eastern Europe

Intermodal specialist Metrans has acquired a 51% stake in Croatian Adria Rail, a rail operator and a provider of railfreight services from the Adriatic region to Central and South-Eastern Europe.

The inland terminal in the Serbian city of Indija, near the capital Belgrade, also belongs to Adria Rail, which enables Metrans to operate its first terminal in Serbia.

The company is also continuing to invest in Hungary. In addition to the construction of the hub terminal in Zalaegerszeg, which is already in progress, Metrans will also build an additional terminal in the Hungarian city of Szeged. Both inland terminals are scheduled to be operational by 2025. (ben)
