Expanded rail access for Georgia and Florida
US transport company Omnitrax is launching its rail-ready sites programme along the short line railroad Georgia & Florida Railway (GFRR) in coordination with nine counties across south Georgia and north Florida. Omnitrax is collaborating with economic development organisations to market and develop eight initial sites.
GFRR operates a network of the 360 km of track between Albany, Georgia and northwestern Florida. The railroad has several interchanges with the class I railways CSX and Norfolk Southern.
In addition to handling rail transport, GFRR also offers rail-to-truck and truck-to-rail transloading services and inventory management solutions. (ben)
