EV three-wheelers made in India
At around 6 million, three-wheelers are ubiquitous in India today. However, most of these transport vehicles are not eco-friendly because they are powered by petrol (gasoline) or diesel or use natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas.
One Indian manufacturer, Altigreen Propulsion Labs, is rolling out eco-friendly electric three-wheelers (3Ws) for last-mile deliveries throughout India. Its first electric vehicle (EV) , a three-wheeler called the Neev, started making deliveries in 2021 for companies such as Amazon and Flipkart.
Now, the company is launching five more models and is increasingly selling its electric three wheelers directly to owner-operators and small companies for captive use as well, Altigreen said. (ben)
