European first for Maltese aviation
The Challenge Group has leased two more Boeing B777-300ERSF converted freighters from Aercap. The aircraft, known as ‘The Big Twins’, are passenger units converted into freighters, and offer greater cargo capacity and improved fuel efficiency.
The milestone was celebrated at Challenge Group’s Malta head office, with the ceremony attended by the country’s prime minister, Robert Abela, its transport, infrastructure and public works minister, Chris Bonett; and the Challenge Group’s founders and owners, Offer Gilboa and Eshel Heffetz; amongst other distinguished guests.
Challenge Group CEO Yossi Shoukroun underlined the fact that “the registration of the first converted B777-300ERSFs in Europe is testament to our focus on innovation and excellence.” (ah)
