Europa to pilot EV on UK network
UK-based Europa Road in UK is planning to trial its first electric vehicle (EV) in its domestic distribution fleet in a test programme arranged by contract hire company Vertellus and its partner RH Commercial Vehicles.
Europa is the first company to try out the Vertellus’ EV discovery programme, using a newly acquired Renault Trucks E-Tech 18 t vehicle. This purchase follows recent significant upgrades to Europa’s fleet with top spec Renault Trucks T tractor units with improved comfort credentials for drivers.
The company will trial the EV from its GBP 30 million (EUR 34.5 million) state-of-the-art groupage 1 hub in Dartford. The truck will carry out its test runs on Europa’s expanding UK network. (ben)
