EURO 9000 expands its scope
Stadler’s Euro 9000 has received type approval for operation in the Netherlands and Belgium. The new generation of six-axle hybrid locomotives has already been authorised in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with an operating licence in Italy expected to follow later this year.
The Euro 9000 is an interoperable locomotive specially designed for the international routes along the main European railway corridors. As the first customer, European Loc Pool (ELP) has so far acquired 30 and Alpha Trains has ordered twelve of this locomotive type.
With a power output of 9 MW, the Euro 9000 is currently the most powerful locomotive on the European market, the Swiss manufacturer said. (ben)
