EUR 10 million logistics hub to open in September

Global freight forwarder Geis Group is building a new logistics terminal n Naila, Upper Franconia, Germany. Construction was symbolically kicked off with the ground-breaking ceremony on a 56,000 sqm plot of land in the Kalkofen industrial estate.

Geis Bischoff Logistics will set up its first own logistics terminal on the site in the coming months. The facility is scheduled to go on stream as early as September 2023.

The full-service logistics provider already offers contract logistics services such as warehousing and order picking for individual customers in the Naila region. With the new building and the associated closure of the external warehouses used up to date, the company wants to bundle its competences in one place.

Built on an area of 10,000 sqm, the multi-user facility will include suitable shelving and ten loading gates. It will be designed to promote both efficiency and sustainability. A photovoltaic system for the production of "green" electricity will be installed on the roof and the hall will be lit by energy-efficient LED systems. (ben)
