eTTS now run in New Jersey terminal

APM Terminals Elizabeth in New Jersey (USA) is progressing its green transformation thanks to an USD 1.4 million grant from the US environmental protection agency.

With the grant, APM has replaced seven diesel terminal vehicles with seven electric terminal tractors (eTTs). The new e-trucks support both plug-in and wireless charging, offer zero direct emissions and reduced noise pollution.

In late 2023, the terminal completed already the construction of its charging infrastructure that allows trucks to recharge simply by parking over a charging pad and enables now the deployment of the eTTs. The electric vehicle will contribute to yard, rail, and vessel operations and can operate for 16-20 hours after just two-hours of charge time. (ben)
