Enhancing ship management in Saudi Arabia
Columbia Ship Management has entered into a joint venture with Spectrum Group, which is based in Khobar on the coast of the Gulf in Eastern Saudi Arabia, with the aim to create a new, technologically advanced ship management service for Saudi Arabia and the neighbouring Middle East region.
The new company, CSM Saudi Arabia, will focus on services specifically tailored for customers in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the whole region.
CSM Saudi Arabia will undertake the immediate management of 35 offshore units and jack-up rigs. It will begin with a team of between 70 and 80 staff taken from both companies.
Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Ports, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Columbia Ship Management on training programmes and consultancy services. (cd)
