Elflein buys e-trucks with LFP battery technology

The German freight forwarder is acquiring three electrically powered trucks from the Swiss brand Designwerk, bringing the number of e-vehicles in Elflein's fleet to four. The new e-trucks are expected to be delivered to the company's headquarters in Bamberg in March 2024.

The three e-trucks are equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology. Compared to the previous nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries, LFP batteries have a higher number of charge cycles, more safety, a higher performance and a lower demand for critical raw materials.

The Elflein electric vehicles are among the first five to be equipped with this advanced technology by Designwerk. (ben)
