Eco-friendly car transports

ARS Altmann in Germany has put its first fully electric standard "Scania P 25" car transporter into operation in a further step to improve its eco-balance. With the e-truck, the automotive logistics company can transport up to eight PkW - without excess length or height.

The new electric Scania has a maximum total towing weight of 42 t and is charged in less than 90 minutes at a maximum of 130 kWh (CCS 2). The electricity is supplied by the company's own photovoltaic system.

For distances over 300 km, ARS Altmann ships the cars by rail using its own rail wagons. In total, ARS Altmann transports 6500 vehicles by road and rail every day, or 2.5 million vehicles annually. (ben)
