Eastern corridor to receive 20 locomotives
Germany-based rail vehicle rental company Railpool has ordered 20 Vectron MS multisystem locomotives from Siemens. The locomotives will be deployed in eleven countries along the eastern corridor (Germany, Austria, Poland, Croatia, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia).
The vehicles will be delivered in several phases beginning in March 2022, which will increase the number of Vectrons in the company’s fleet to 53. All in all, Railpool’s fleet comprises more than 400 locomotives.
The Vectron MS locomotives have a maximum output of 6.4 megawatts and a top speed of 200 km/h. They are also equipped with ETCS. (ben)
