Easter congestion on Basel – Rastatt rail line
There will probably be no train path capacity available for flexible traffic between Basel in Switzerland and Rastatt in Germany from 15 April to 25 April 2022. Construction work is taking place on various sections of the line between Basel and Rastatt, resulting in single-track traffic and at times total closures.
According to DB Netz, regular services will have to be thinned out due to the limited line capacity. There will probably be no train path capacity for short-term traffic, the company said.
The Basel - Rastatt line is the most important section for freight traffic on the connection between Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and Genoa (Italy). (ben)
