E-tractor passes first test
The logistics company Duvenbeck has tested an all-electric terminal tractor at its site in Rastatt, Germany. It is to be used to move uncoupled semi-trailers on a factory site.
The terminal tractor manufactured by Terberg, a producer of specialised utility vehicles, carried out its first operations in everyday use without any problems. The test is now to be transferred to a one-year long-term phase.
So far, diesel-powered tractors have been used to move the trailers. Duvenbeck has been operating the trailer yard in Raststatt for a vehicle manufacturer for many years. Here it manages truck trailers and swap bodies and their loads according to the vehicle manufacturer's needs and production flow. (ben)
