Dunkirk: safe access for trucks

A dedicated, secure access corridor for HGV has been opened on the premises of the French North Sea port of Dunkirk. An inauguration ceremony to this effect was held recently in the presence of prominent members of the port business community and official bodies of both France and the UK. According to the port’s administration, the new access road increases the security of trucks waiting for registration.

Together with the corridor, the port has also introduced a new surveillance system. The port’s premises can now be monitored day and night by means of security cameras installed on a drone. The surveillance system is one of several measures implemented by the port of Dunkirk in order to supervise the entry and exit of goods and people through the new frontier in Europe when the UK leaves the European Union.
