Dronamics appoints general manager Australia
Dronamics, the world’s first cargo drone airline, has appointed Gavin Gomes as general manager, Dronamics Australia and a member of the senior management team, effective 1 August 2023, as the company prepares to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pacific region.
Gomes has a track record that spans numerous sectors including start-ups, private companies, listed entities, and global multinationals such as Canon, Australia Post, Telstra, and IBM. A certified pilot, he currently also serves as a non-executive director of Royal Victorian Aero Club and CM Pacific.
In 2022, Dronamics received approval to conduct experimental test flights with a sub-scale prototype of its flagship, remotely piloted aircraft, the Black Swan. The same year, Dronamics signed a manufacturing agreement with Quickstep Holdings to help scale up its fleet and meet the growing demand for its cargo mobility services. (cj)
